I guess that's why it's important to rotate your stock !!

When I was in the Army in the early '60s, we often ate c-rats and k-rats that had been packed in WWII.

Nobody ever got sick from them.

Some weren't very tasty and the cigarettes were pretty stale, but everything was edible.

They prolly still would be.

I'm not so sure about that. We got ahold of some back in 97 and they were bad. Smell alone would detere the hungrest of people

I can remember going to a local surplus store back in the late 1980's and early '90's, and buying a bunch of Vietnam-era rations. Some might've been even older still. $.25 or $.50 a can IIRC. Little green cans of poundcake, cheese, peanut butter, crackers, etc. Devoured the contents of every one I ever bought.

I'm still alive and well. :approve

Can't say that I ever tried the ever-popular ham and lima beans I've always heard about, however.:bsmile ;)
