Fill in the blanks of who you think this is about. There are ony three so it should be easy...

________ his Life and Mission. -- This sin-atoning God was about sixteen when he commenced active life. , he chose twelve disciples to aid him in propagating his doctrines. "He spent his time working miracles, resuscitating the dead, healing lepers, restoring the deaf and the blind, defending the weak against the strong, and the oppressed against the oppressor, and in proclaiming his divine mission to redeem man from original sin, and banish evil, and restore the reign of good." It is declared that he came to teach peace, charity, love to man, self- respect, the practice of good for its own sake, and faith in the inexhaustible goodness of the Creator; also to preach the immortality of the soul, and the doctrine of future rewards and punishments, and to vanquish the prince of darkness, . It is further declared that "________brought his son ______ upon the earth to die for the Salvation of man." "His lofty precepts and the purity of his life spread his fame throughout all , and finally won for him more than three millions of followers." "He inculcated the sublimest doctrines, and the purest morals, and the grand principles of charity and self-denial." "He forbade revenge, and commanded to return good for evil, and consoled the feeble and the unhappy." "He lived poor, and loved the poor." "He lived chaste, and enjoined chastity." "Problems the most lofty, and morals the most pure and sublime, and the future destiny of man, were themes which engaged his most profound attention."

Interesting new evangelical twist as to why the christ came..

He came to redeem all of the blood sacrifice prior to his comming, he did not come to redeem the original sin, he did not come to change any other of gods laws..

Just an observation Class, but I doubt most folks resort to telling you you're going to hell, or call you an asshole because you dont believe.. I think they tell you you're going to hell and call you an asshole for your seemingly agressive and fascistic view of religious people.. again just an observation.. Your sig line kinda proves my point.

As far as I can tell no one here is gunning for you, because of your belief system, so I dont get it, I guess.

I have a point and this is it.. If gods, ghosts, demons and all of this ohter crap dont exist, why does it offend your sensibilities to the point that you need to debase and alienate others.. it is meaningless, and therefore moot.

If godlessness is the only way to be, it seems like in becomming godless one would leave behind, transcend all the manic ugly crap that comes with god, according to you.

Evidently this struck a nerve with you. All at once you become defensive.. There must be some truth in the fact that Christianity is a borrowed religion and is based on all of the past religions and fairy tales combined.. However to point this out sure brings the ire out in some of you religious people..This post wasnt meant to be a dig, but you sure made it into one.. Thank you. Shows the typical response from the religious.. How dare one point out the fallacies and discrepencies in Christianity.. We will not shut up, you religious have had your way for 2500 years , now it is our turn.. So shut up and dont you dare tell us we are wrong..Sound Familiar?????

I'm not even a christian, and that was an honest observation about your discription of chritianity.. IMHO there are very few religions that are more preverse then evangelicalism.. One that is is the muslim crap..

As to strikeing a nerve in me, nahh, not really.. but I see something as banal as religious beliefs, or the lack there of in todays world to be of little consequence unless it poses a direct threat to others.. and there are a few that do, but most here in america are harmless..

sounds like lunacy to me, no matter who is squeeling for control.. Do you really want it? Knowing what we are capable of?

Who do I want in Control?,,I damn well do not want a theocracy,, Look at what happened when there was one..ISLAM is a good example of what happens with a Theocracy... The religious had control for centuries and look at the blood shed in the name of this god of theirs..And of Course they are gonna retaliate with the Likes of Hitler, Pol Pot, as being Atheists, however not one war or masacre was perpetrated because of Atheism, It just so happened Hitler was a devout Catholic and Pol Pot almost become a Monk.Their crimes against humanity were strictly political.

My point is, they can spout their dogma, shout it from the roof Tops, Advertise on Bill boards, Knock on your door,Around here they call you on the phone.. but damn if one word is said or evidence provided to refute them, it is the "I am a Victim" "Why do you persecute us" BULL shit. Reminds me of the JEWs, they are the pertetual victims also.. The religious attack the messenger rather than provide any evidence for support in what they believe because there is none, so attack the other side is their only recourse. That takes the spotlight away from them. Oldest trick in the book..

I get sick of hearing their dogma, it is everywhere,, In fact here is a clipping from a very small advertising paper here in our Town.. Talk about an illogical mindset,, Sort of like those Idiots from WB Church, God is gonna punish the innocent because of what the Homos do..Sick Minds..I believe the guy who wrote this has the mentality of a 3rd grader..

Just ignore the idiots.. Unless they are comming after you.. I see shit like that about jews alllll the time.. I just brush my shoulders off and thats that.. Half the people on the planet, including powerful politicians would like nothing more then to see me and every other jew a pile of mouldering bones. and have tried to do just that for freaking millinia. Ever had a run in with a closet skinhead?

Do you think a theocracy is possible in this country? Sure politicians on both sides manipulate the virtues of the religious from one generation to the next, but I dont see it happening.. GWB's religious ties, were for political purposes, laundering money, ETC.

I think it is much more likely that if anything we will have a nationalist or authoritarian autocratic state headed by a dictator.. they will become the arbiters of morality and virtue.. and manipulate it at their whims.

Religion manipulated to be a form of control or a fucked up dictator setting the current dos and donts for the masses, either side of that coin is evil.

It is my belief that Classic DOES believe in at least God and probably Jesus and the Bible. But I think he fervently does not want to believe. By seemingly trying so vehemently to convince others that God and Jesus do not exist, he in actuality is trying to convince himself. Seldom have I seen so much projected hatred, abuse and knowledge of a subject directed by anyone that isn't trying to convince themselves that something is right or wrong. I am happy to help him in this struggle and hope that he eventually finds solice and comfort. It certainly is no fun to be in limbo about ones beliefs!

Slipgate you are wrong: ,, There is no history of this Jesus Dude even living, other than what is written in scripture.. I do not believe in Miracles, for a miracle to happen the laws of nature must be suspended, and that aint gonna happen.. I do not believe in Divine intervention, if there was such then murders, rapes, and 10 million children starving every year woudnt happen.. I do believe that man in his arogance things he is so special that DEATH just cant be the end. Man is so afraid of death he will make up anything to ease his fear of the unknown.. The fairy tales in the bible have so many holes in them their isnt enough cork in the world to make plugs..

Even biblical scholars say the bible is full of BS..

Again a believer puts in words that arent there. No where have I said I believe in the Big Bang,, I do however believe in the laws of Nature. Not superstitious BS..No miracle there.. Sorry Try again...For a miracle the Laws of Nature must be suspended..

As far as the bible is concerned, the writers couldnt even get their facts or fictions as it were, straight..

Anyone with a bit of imagination can make the bible say what they want, I can show you where the bible is constantly talking about evolution, it is all in the interpretation. but then one must stay away from the superstition and really understand what is actually written in it..

Speaking of Miracles?

That brings me to the USMC. For I have yet to meet a Marine who drove a truck, cooked food, fixed aircraft or did all or any of the mundane things to keep a fighting machine-fighting: They are all Recon or special ops....

I say this as someone special to me is undergoing some rugged ass training for the title of _____________

Never met a cook or a clerk at one of those places.
